About me
Updated April 2025
Welcome! My name is Dandan Zhang. I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow working with Daniel Jacob in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University.
I received my PhD with Randall Martin in the Department of Energy, Environmental, and Chemical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis.
I am curently working on methane inversion with GCHP capability. My doctoral research focuses on the application and development of air quality modeling in combination with ground-based and satellite-based observations. I have been working on the effects of model spatial resolution on population exposure to air pollutants, source sector contributions, and geophysical satellite-derived fine particulate matter. I am also interested in model developments, and currently working on improving fine mineral dust representation in a chemical transport model of GEOS-Chem.
Prior to my PhD, I received a B.S. in Environmental Science and a B.A. in Economics at Peking University (Beijing, China) in 2019. My undergraduate research was advised by Wen Liu with a focus on the degradation processes of trace antibiotics in polluted aquatic system by engineered photocatalysts under simulated sunlight.
Beyond research, I enjoy hiking, swimming, skiing, and skating.
